Red Bulls Host FC Juárez @Sports Illustrated Stadium Thurs. Aug. 7, '25

The New York Red Bulls will serve as the home team when they face off against FC Juárez on Thursday, August 7, 2025, with kickoff scheduled for 7:30 p.m. at Sports Illustrated Stadium in Harrison, NJ. In the 2025 Leagues Cup, the New York Red Bulls have begun strongly. In their opening match, they secured a 1–0 victory over Guadalajara on July 31. Their subsequent game against Monterrey ended in a dramatic penalty shootout loss after a draw in regulation—highlighting the fine margins at play in this tightly contested tournament 

With the Leagues Cup in full swing, MLS teams have been making their mark in the early rounds, outpacing their Liga MX rivals in recent matches. Attendance expectations are high—Ticketmaster lists the August 7 game at  Sports Illustrated Stadium in Harrison, NJ, indicating a strong demand for tickets, though there is no formal announcement of a sellout as of yet.

FC Juárez: A Glimpse into Their Home Base

FC Juárez, currently competing in Mexico’s Liga MX, plays its home matches at the Estadio Olímpico Benito Juárez, located in Ciudad Juárez, Chihuahua, directly across the U.S.–Mexico border. The multi-purpose stadium, which opened in May 1981, is part of the Autonomous University of Ciudad Juárez campus and accommodates around 19,700 spectators 

In their latest Leagues Cup fixture during Phase One, FC Juárez delivered a tense performance—holding a 2–0 lead before ultimately being forced into penalties, where they edged out FC Cincinnati in a 4–3 shootout victory 

What Is the Leagues Cup?

The Leagues Cup is an annual interleague tournament that pits clubs from Major League Soccer (MLS) in the U.S. and Canada against sides from Mexico’s Liga MX. The 2025 edition, running from July 29 through August 31, showcases 36 teams—18 from each league—competing for regional supremacy and qualification to the 2026 CONCACAF Champions Cup.  In Phase One, each club plays three matches against teams from the opposite league, earning points in separate league-specific tables; the top four teams from each league’s table advance to the knockout rounds.

Harrison Police Issue Traffic Advisory Ahead of Match

In anticipation of game-day congestion, the Harrison Police Department has issued a traffic bulletin warning fans and residents of major delays and possible street closures near Red Bull Arena for the August 7 match. Attendees are encouraged to plan their travel in advance, allow extra time, and consider using public transit to minimize congestion in the surrounding area.
