Kicking off the season, Harrison High School's Parent Teacher Student Organization (PTSO) invites the community to their annual Pancake Breakfast on Saturday, December 2, 2023. From 8 a.m. to 11 a.m., enjoy a range of pancakes and breakfast staples for just $5.00 per person. This event at 401 Kingsland Avenue is more than a fundraiser; it’s a celebration of community, allowing parents, teachers, and students to connect outside of school.

Santa Breakfast at Centro Romeu Cascaes

On Sunday, December 10, 2023, from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., the Centro Romeu Cascaes Portuguese Community Center offers a cozy Breakfast with Santa. At $15.00 per person (free for children 5 and under), this event features a breakfast buffet and a chance for children to meet Santa along with a picture with Santa. Hosted at the Centro Romeu Cascaes Community Center located at 14 North Frank E. Rodgers Blvd., this event is a heartwarming blend of community spirit and holiday joy.

Harrison East Newark Elks Lodge Toy Drive

The Harrison East Newark Elks Lodge #2326 is conducting a Christmas Toy Drive from November 3 to December 3, 2023. New, unwrapped toys can be dropped off at 406 Harrison Avenue, with the collected toys heading to Cooperman (St.) Barnabas Hospital in Livingston NJ on December 10 during the Toys for Tots Event.

ACP Riders of Kearny Charity Run

On Sunday, December 10, 2023, the Associao Cultural Portuguesa (ACP) Riders of Kearny will hold their Charity Motorcycle and Jeep run. Starting at the Harrison East Newark Elks Lodge at 406 Harrison Avenue at 9 a.m., this event, priced at $30.00 per person, includes breakfast and an after-party, with proceeds supporting charitable causes. The ride to Cooperman (St.) Barnabas Medical Center in Livingston NJ sets off at 11:30 a.m. Registration begins at 9 a.m.

Special Children’s Christmas Party

The Harrison East Newark Elks Lodge also hosts a Special Children’s Christmas Party on Saturday, December 9, 2023, from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. This event promises a visit from Santa Claus, offering a perfect photo opportunity for families.

Gallery of Ink Toy & Clothing Drive

Gallery of Ink, located at 42 Harrison Avenue, is organizing a Toy & Clothing Drive on Sunday, December 10, 2023, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Donations of new toys and winter wear are welcomed, with contributors receiving a free tattoo from a selection of pre-drawn designs.

Annual Kearny Tree Lighting Festival

This family-friendly event offers milk and cookies, pet photos, and sensory-friendly options. The Holy Cross Church Hall is downstairs when you get to the entry at 16 Church Square.

Kearny Belleville Elks Breakfast with Santa

The Kearny-Belleville Elks present their Breakfast with Santa on Sunday, December 17, 2023  from 9 a.m. to 12 noon at the Kearny Eagles. This event is priced at $8.00 per person and supports the Elks Scholarship Fund.

East Newark Tree Lighting Ceremony

East Newark's Tree Lighting Ceremony is set for December 2 at 5 p.m. at the East Newark Borough Hall. The event features carolers, refreshments, and an appearance by Santa Claus, sponsored by local authorities and organizations.
