WHY THE HARRISON MUNICIPAL ELECTION MATTERS
The November 3 election comes as Harrison faces several significant questions about its future.
Key issues include the EPA's proposed use of PSE&G property in Harrison for contaminated Passaic River sediment processing, the future of the town's redevelopment area, flooding, infrastructure improvements, municipal spending, and transparency in local government.
Mayor James A. Fife and his political organization have defended the administration's redevelopment record and its approach to municipal government.
Stand Up Harrison's candidates argue that the town needs a different direction, particularly regarding the proposed EPA operation and greater transparency, including recording of Town of Harrison meetings and public participation in municipal decisions.
