The Zoning Board of Adjustment of the Town of Harrison will hold a regular meeting on Wednesday, December 20, 2023, at 6:30 p.m. at the Harrison Town Hall, located at 318 Harrison Avenue, Harrison in the 2nd Floor Council Chambers. This meeting, in compliance with the New Jersey Sunshine Law, has been duly noticed to the public, and the agenda includes several key items for discussion.

One of the primary topics on the docket is the application by All Seasons Childcare and Learning Center for establishing a childcare center at 10-12 North 3rd Street, Block 14, Lot 26. The proposal, labeled as Calendar Z-2023-02, seeks a "D1" Variance and Minor Site Plan Approvals from the zoning requirements of the Land Development Ordinance to propose a childcare center in the ground floor commercial space. The commercial space was formerly the O’Canecao Sports Bar and Skylite Lounge & Restaurant.

All Seasons Childcare and Learning Center, known for its commitment to nurturing and educating children, operates multiple facilities in Harrison, NJ. It is not clear whether the proposed North 3rd Street location is an additional facility or a facility that will replace one of the three childcare facilities that they operate.

All Seasons Childcare and Learning Center’s ethos focuses on producing "happy, intelligent, well-adjusted children" in a nurturing educational environment, catering to children from newborns to 13 years old at their different facilities. The centers participate in government-subsidized childcare programs.

This expansion proposed by All Seasons Childcare and Learning Center Inc. indicates the organization's ongoing effort to provide quality childcare services in Harrison. The application's discussion during the Zoning Board meeting is expected to draw attention from residents and stakeholders given the importance of accessible and quality child care in the community.

The agenda for the meeting also includes a roll call, correspondence, approval of minutes from June 21, 2023, meeting, and other new business before adjourning subject to the call of the chair. The Minutes from the Meeting of June 21, 2023, were not posted to the Town of Harrison's official website for the public’s review but that is par for the course. The Zoning Board is not the only Harrison governmental entity not posting minutes of meetings on time to the town website.

The public is encouraged to attend this meeting to stay informed about local developments and to participate in the civic process. This meeting presents an opportunity for residents to voice their opinions and learn more about the proposed changes that could impact the community.
