Gotham FC vs Boston Legacy FC in Harrison 5/9/26
May 06, 2026
Soccer fans in Harrison are set for another exciting evening of professional women’s soccer as NJ/NY Gotham FC hosts Boston Legacy FC on Saturday, May 9, 2026, at Sports Illustrated Stadium with kickoff scheduled for 6:30 p.m.
Fans are encouraged to arrive early, as Fan Fest activities are scheduled to begin at 4 p.m. Due to expected inclement weather conditions, Gotham FC announced that Fan Fest activities will take place indoors through Gate B1 between 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. Stadium officials also reminded fans that spectator seating areas inside Sports Illustrated Stadium are covered by the stadium awning.
Saturday night’s match carries the “Club & Country” theme presented by Tylenol®, celebrating players who compete both professionally in the National Women’s Soccer League and internationally for their national teams. Gotham FC’s roster features numerous internationally recognized players, including World Cup champions and Olympic medalists such as Rose Lavelle, Ann-Katrin Berger, Esther González, and several other players who represent countries around the globe on the international stage.
The match will also recognize the influence and history of women’s national team soccer, particularly legends connected to the United States Women’s National Team, as the New Jersey and New York region prepares to become a major international soccer hub during the upcoming global soccer events this summer.
Youth soccer organizations are also expected to have a major presence during the game as part of Gotham FC’s “Youth Soccer Night.” Participating youth teams were offered ticket packages that included an on-field parade opportunity as well as an exclusive Gotham FC headband giveaway.
Fans arriving early may also want to take advantage of the gate giveaway promotion. The first 5,000 fans entering the stadium will receive a special Gotham FC “Club & Country” player deck of cards sponsored by Tylenol®.
About Gotham FC
NJ/NY Gotham FC is one of the founding clubs of the National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL), joining the league in 2013 under the original name Sky Blue FC before later rebranding as Gotham FC. The club represents both New Jersey and New York and plays its home matches at Sports Illustrated Stadium in Harrison.
Sports Illustrated Stadium, formerly known as Red Bull Arena, opened in 2010 and has become one of the premier soccer-specific venues in the United States. The stadium has an approximate seating capacity of 25,000 fans and also serves as the home stadium for the New York Red Bulls of Major League Soccer.
Gotham FC captured the NWSL Championship in recent seasons and has become known for attracting internationally recognized talent and United States Women’s National Team stars.

About Boston Legacy FC
Boston Legacy FC is one of the newest expansion clubs in the National Women’s Soccer League and began league play in 2026. The Boston-based club was created as part of the league’s continued national expansion and growth in women’s professional soccer.
Boston Legacy FC is expected to play its home matches at a new professional soccer venue planned for the Boston area while also utilizing larger regional venues during its inaugural seasons as the club builds its fan base in New England. The organization represents the return of top-level professional women’s soccer to the Boston market.
Traffic and Parking Concerns
With the earlier start time and Fan Fest activities beginning in the afternoon, local residents should expect increased traffic in and around the stadium district and the Harrison PATH Station area.
The Harrison Police Department will likely issue a Traffic and Parking Bulletin for the event, similar to other major matches held at Sports Illustrated Stadium. Residents in the nearby SOHA and Riverbend redevelopment neighborhoods are familiar with the department’s use of traffic control posts and police escorts to help residents navigate road closures and congestion during stadium events.
While Saturday’s Gotham FC match is expected to be far calmer than the recent international soccer match between Canada and Colombia at the stadium, residents are already aware that another international soccer event is scheduled later this year in November.
Some local residents continue to question the growing number of international matches hosted at Sports Illustrated Stadium, noting earlier public assurances from the stadium organization that international soccer events would be limited due to the significant traffic and quality-of-life impacts they can create for surrounding neighborhoods.
Still, Saturday night is expected to provide a family-friendly atmosphere centered around women’s soccer, youth participation, and international soccer pride as Gotham FC welcomes Boston Legacy FC to Harrison for another NWSL matchup.
