West Hudson Theatre Company What Co Trivia Night Murder

The West Hudson Arts & Theatre Company (What Co) is holding in-person auditions for one of its productions, Trivia Night Murder over two days, Tuesday, January 24th, and Thursday, January 26th, 2023 between 7 p.m. and 9 a.m. that their new headquarters, the former Holy Cross Grammar School, located at 15 So. Frank E. Rodgers Blvd., Harrison NJ. (just South of Harrison Avenue).

Those auditioning must be 18 or older.  Auditioners will be asked to read from the character's sides and show off their improv skills.

The production, Trivia Night Murder, is an interactive comedy murder mystery that will also feature a trivia game for the audience. The play centers around a trivia game competition.  One of the team leaders however dies during the game leading to a law enforcement investigation. Some roles are improv roles.

Characters: 

Investigators

  • Sammy: the personable host of Trivia, Trivia, Trivia
  • Malloy: a retired detective and Trivia player

Victim

  • Graham/Gina: the off-putting head of “Graham’s Team” or “Gina’s Team”

Suspects

  • Jeanette: Jeremy’s annoyed ex on “Agatha Quiztie”
  • Jeremy: Jeanette’s annoyed ex on “The Real Agatha Quiztie”
  • Ethel: a sweet older woman that is part of “Guessing Grannies”
  • Tara: a young buzzed woman and leader of an impromptu team “Happy Birthday, Tara”
  • Winston/Victoria: a pompous historian on “Your History”
  • Chip/Bambi: a competitive gym rat on “The Champions”
  • Shelby/Stuart: a sweet school teacher on “Schooled”
  • Dan/Dawn: a barfly on “We’re Here Every Night”

COVID 19 Policy

Actors will be asked to wear masks during rehearsals. When the audience is present, audience members will not be able to wear masks while eating or drinking.  The venue, however, has very high ceilings which provide more air circulation than most venues. Mask should be worn when possible since Covid 19 is still present throughout communities in New Jersey.
