Wednesday Night NJ/NY Gotham v. Washington Spirit Game at Red Bulls

NY/NJ Gotham FC takes on the Washington Spirit on Wednesday, April 19, 2023 at the Red Bulls Arena in a highly anticipated National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) match. The match promises to be a exciting game between two strong teams in the Leaque.

The Washington Spirit is a Washington D.C. based soccer team whose home field is the Audi Field in Washington D.C. and Maryland SoccerPlex in Germantown Maryland. The Washington Spirit team was one of the inaugural teams of the NWSL.

The Washington Spirit team was originally owned by Bill Lynch in 2013 when the NWSL was founded. In 2018, Bill Lynch sold his majority interest to tech executive Steve Baldwin.  Steve Baldwin was the team’s Chief Executive Officer and managing partner but in 2021 he stepped down from those positions with the team. The Spirit's ownership group is composed of a diverse group of women, including Jenna Bush Hager,  Chelsea Clinton, Dominique Dawes; and Alexander Ovechkin.
