On Sunday, March 26, 2023, a 5K Run/Walk will start at 9 a.m. from West Hudson Park en route to Harrison in a memorial fundraising for Vincent J. Doffont Jr's.  Last March, Doffont passed away suddenly at the Harrison Fire Department headquarters after coming back from a training exercise. The 5K Run/Walk will held one year from the Funeral Mass at Holy Cross in Harrison NJ.

To join in the Race / Walk you can sign up here.  There is a $35.00  Race Fee plus a $3.75 Sign Up Fee for a total of $38.75   All funds raised by the Race Fee will go directly to the Doffont Family.

The Opening Ceremony for the Race/Walk will be at 8:30 a.m. All participants must be lined up by 8:50 a.m. for the 9:00 a.m. race start.

The Vincent J. Doffont Jr. race is USATF Certified and Sanctioned 5K with chipped timing, results will be posted immediately after the race.  Participants will receive a Custom Race Shirt courtesy of the 5K Sponsors.

The Race / Walk will take a route from West Hudson Park which borders the neighboring town of Kearny.  Parking is limited on side streets including Dukes Street in Kearny, Schuyler Avenue in Kearny and Harrison, and within West Hudson Park itself (See map).

Those participating in the Race / Walk can pick up their Race Packets a day before the race and on race day.  Race Packets can be picked up  on  Saturday, March 25, 2023, between 9:00 am -1:00 pm at the Harrison Community Center, located at 401 Warren Street, Harrison NJ (the corner of South Frank E. Rodgers Blvd. and Warren Street)

On Race Day, Sunday, March 26, 2023 Race Packets can be picked up between 7:30 am - 8:15 a.m. at the Check-In Flag Station at West Hudson Park.

Although for Runners it will take far less than the time allotted, all participants will have at least an hour and a half to complete the race.  The Harrison and Kearny Police Departments will be providing traffic control during the Race.
