A stabbing incident that occurred in Harrison on Wednesday, November 5, 2025, led to a multi-agency police response and the arrest of six individuals, authorities confirmed. While the swift apprehension of the suspects was reported by several law enforcement agencies, officials have released limited information about the victim, the motive, or what precipitated the violent encounter.

Incident and Pursuit Through Harrison and PATH System

The stabbing took place in Harrison at an undisclosed location. Following the incident, several suspects fled on foot, with some entering or attempting to enter the nearby PATH transit system. The pursuit triggered a coordinated response involving the Harrison Police Department, the New Jersey Transit Police Department (NJTPD), the Port Authority Police Department’s Emergency Service Unit (PAPD ESU), and the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office.

Harrison police officers apprehended several suspects shortly after the incident. A final suspect was captured only after an intensive 30-minute search in a dense brush area located under a bridge. PAPD ESU officers utilized a thermal imaging camera, which ultimately aided in locating and arresting the individual.

Harrison Police Officers On Rail Tracks Used by PATH

The active pursuit forced a 40-minute suspension of PATH rail service between Newark and Harrison, affecting commuters during the evening hours.

Victim Suffered Life-Threatening Injuries

Although authorities have not disclosed the identity of the victim, news outlets, including NJ.com, have confirmed that the individual was transported to a hospital with life-threatening injuries.

As of Wednesday, November 12, 2025—one full week after the incident—law enforcement officials have not provided updates regarding the victim’s condition. The last confirmed public statement indicates only that the victim remains hospitalized and that their injuries are severe.

Charges and Motive Remain Undisclosed

While six suspects have been arrested, officials have not released the names or charges they face. Law enforcement sources have also not publicly confirmed what led to the stabbing, whether the individuals involved knew each other, or whether the attack was random or targeted.

The Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office and the Harrison Police Department are jointly handling the investigation. Both agencies have remained cautious in releasing information, a decision that may reflect standard procedure while investigators work to verify witness accounts, gather forensic evidence, and determine each suspect’s level of involvement.

Limited Public Information and Ongoing Investigation

The scarcity of official details has caused concern and speculation among residents. However, law enforcement typically withholds certain information in the early stages of violent-crime investigations to avoid compromising interviews, lineups, or prosecutorial decisions.

Given the number of suspects and the complexity of their movements—including the use of a regional transit system during their attempted escape—investigators may still be piecing together surveillance footage, PATH system records, and statements from multiple jurisdictions.

Authorities reiterate that the investigation remains active, and additional information will be released once it is appropriate and will not jeopardize the integrity of the case.

Community Impact

The incident caused temporary disruption for PATH riders and an increased police presence in the area of the Harrison PATH station. Many commuters expressed concern about safety, though law enforcement agencies emphasized that the coordinated response and rapid arrests demonstrate effective interagency cooperation.

Residents are encouraged to remain vigilant and to report any information they may have about the November 5 incident to the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office or the Harrison Police Department.
