PATH Service Suspended Between Harrison & Journal Square Weekends

PATH riders should prepare for service changes this fall. Starting the weekend of September 13–14, 2025, PATH service will be suspended between Harrison and Journal Square on several weekends to allow for the demolition of a Conrail freight bridge that crosses the PATH tracks.

Weekday service will not be affected. During the weekend closures, free shuttle buses will run between Harrison, Journal Square, and Newark Penn Station to help riders get where they need to go.

Weekend Closure Dates

PATH service between Harrison and Journal Square will be suspended on these weekends:

• September 13–14
• September 20–21
• October 4–5
• October 11–12
• October 25–26
• November 1–2

Travel Alternatives

• Shuttle Buses: Free buses will connect Harrison, Journal Square, and Newark Penn Station.
• Other PATH Lines: Service will still run between Newark Penn Station and Harrison, and on the Journal Square–33rd Street via Hoboken line.
