The Town of Harrison celebrated an important milestone for the Harrison Police Department as several officers were officially promoted to the rank of Sergeant and Police Chief Stanley Titterington was formally sworn in during a ceremony in the Mayor & Council Chambers at Harrison Town Hall.

Family members, friends, fellow officers, elected officials, and community supporters gathered to recognize the accomplishments of the department’s newest supervisors and to mark what many described as a new chapter for the Harrison Police Department.

The ceremony honored the promotion of seven officers whose years of dedication and service to the community earned them advancement within the department. The newly promoted Sergeants include:

  • Sgt. Robert Archibald
  • Sgt. Omar Baldeon
  • Sgt. Iker Bermudez
  • Sgt. David Burke
  • Sgt. Sean Castaneda
  • Sgt. Freddy Lecca
  • Sgt. James Nichirco

Town officials and department members praised the officers for their professionalism, leadership, and commitment to protecting the residents of Harrison. The promotions represent not only personal achievements for the officers and their families but also an investment in the department's future leadership. Police Director Nick Nicholas G. Breiner stated at a prior Mayor & Council meeting that an Ordinance changing the number of Sergeants in the Harrison Police Department was intended to improve departmental management.

The evening also featured the formal swearing-in ceremony for Chief Stanley Titterington, who has been on the job since Police Chief David Strumolo retired in April of 2025, officially took the oath of office in the Mayor & Council Chambers. Chief Titterington’s appointment comes during a period of continued community engagement and growth in Harrison, as the department continues to expand outreach efforts and public safety initiatives throughout the town's neighborhoods.

Officials expressed confidence in Chief Titterington’s leadership and vision for the department moving forward, noting his experience and long-standing commitment to serving the Harrison community.

The ceremony was filled with applause, photographs, and emotional moments as officers stood alongside their loved ones while taking their oaths, wearing their Sergeant jackets and formal attire. Police Chief Titterington was also in his formal attire with his white gloves marking the formal occasion.

Residents and community leaders extended congratulations to all newly promoted Sergeants and wished Chief Titterington continued success as he begins his official tenure as leader of the Harrison Police Department.

It should be noted that the members of the Harrison Council dressed up for the occasion.
