Red Bulls v. Houston Dynamo Sat. Apr. 15, 2023 at Home

On Saturday, April 15th, 2023, the New York Red Bulls will face off against the Houston Dynamo in a soccer match at Red Bull Arena in Harrison, New Jersey. The game has a 7:30 p.m. start.

The New York Red Bulls come off of a 1-1 Tie Game against the San Jose Earthquakes.  The Houston Dynamo come off of a 3-0 win against the LA Galaxy. The last match between the Red Bulls and Houston Dynamo goes back to July of 2019.  Houston won 4-0.  Overall Houston  Dynamo holds a record of 3 wins against the Red Bulls 2 wins with one Tie when the teams have played against each other.

The Houston Dynamo soccer is based out of Houston, Texas.The team was established in 2005 and has previously owned by a group of investors including Gabriel Brener, Oscar De La Hoya, Ben Guill, and Jake Silverstein.  In August of 2022, the minority partners were bought out by Ted Segal who is now the majority owner.

The Houston Dynamo play their home games at Shell Energy Stadium, which is a soccer-specific stadium located in East Downtown Houston. The stadium opened in 2012 and has a seating capacity of 22,039. The stadium features a natural grass playing surface and is equipped with state-of-the-art facilities for both players and fans.

Shell Energy Stadium is designed to create an intimate soccer experience for fans, with all seats positioned close to the field. The stadium has several premium seating options, including club seats and luxury suites, which offer fans a premium experience with exclusive amenities and services.

Shell Energy Stadium has hosted several high-profile soccer events, including the 2010 MLS All-Star Game, the 2011 CONCACAF Gold Cup, and the 2019 MLS Cup Final. The stadium has also been used for other events, such as concerts and corporate events.

Game Day Traffic

The Harrison Police Department did not issue a Red Bull Arena Event Notice for the game.  The average attendance at New York Red Bull games is 12,500. Because of the Soccer game, additional traffic delays are expected in Harrison NJ, and the Ironbound Section of Newark NJ.

No Parking Signs will be posted in advance on streets surrounding the Red Bulls Arena.

During Red Bull Arena events Peter Higgins Blvd. is closed between Guyon Drive & Crucible Drive. starting at 8:00 a.m. and extending to 11:30 p.m.

Crucible Drive between So. Fifth Street and Peter Higgins Blvd will be closed from Noon to 11:30 p.m.

Riverbend Drive between Frank E. Rodgers Blvd and Peter B. Higgins Blvd will be closed from Noon to 11:30 p.m.

The Park Mobile App will deny any payment attempt for parking in streets designated No Parking.

The Harrison Police Department will also be enforcing restrictions on parking construction vehicles or equipment on the street surrounding the Red Bulls Arena.  Any vehicle in violation of towing restrictions will be ticketed and towed.

Resident Police Escorts

The Harrison Police Department will be providing Police Escorts for a resident who resides in the area surrounding the Red Bulls Arena and Path Station.  Police escorts will be available to all residents wishing to return to their homes during the egress of the event while Frank E. Rodgers Blvd. South is closed. Staging for the escort will be located in the parking lot next to the Seabra’s Grocery Store on Bergen Street next to Wendy's restaurant.
