Harrison Police Department's National Night Out 2023

The Harrison New Jersey Police Department will be participating in the National Night Out 2023, to be held on Tuesday, August 1, 2023, between 6 p.m. and 9 p.m. This event, taking place at the Veteran Memorial in Library Park, on Harrison Avenue, Harrison NJ, (between South Frank E. Rodgers Blvd and North 5^th Street) is a unique opportunity for residents to meet and interact with their local police officers and neighbors in a relaxed and friendly setting.

National Night Out is an annual community-building campaign that promotes police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie to make our neighborhoods safer, more caring places to live. It was established in 1984 by the National Association of Town Watch (NATW) and has since grown to involve over 38 million people across thousands of communities from all fifty states, U.S. territories, Canadian cities, and military bases worldwide. The event is held annually on the first Tuesday in August.

The purpose of National Night Out is to enhance the relationship between neighbors and law enforcement while bringing back a true sense of community. It provides a great opportunity to bring police and neighbors together under positive circumstances. Furthermore, it's a chance to bring police and communities together in a positive, non-emergency setting.

The Harrison New Jersey Police Department is proud to be a part of this national event, and the Police Officers are looking forward to meeting the residents of Harrison. The officers will be there to answer any questions, provide information, and most importantly, get to know the people they serve on a daily basis.

Adding to the community spirit, refreshments for the event will be provided by the Harrison-East Newark Elks Club. This local organization is known for its commitment to community service and its support will undoubtedly contribute to the success of the event.
