Buses Still Coming To Harrison Monday: NJ Transit Trains Start Tuesday
May 19, 2025
The Good News this morning is that NJ Transit has tentatively settled its strike with its operating engineers. Train service from NJ Transit will begin on Tuesday, May 20, 2025, at midnight. In the interim, NJ Transit is providing bus service, including buses to the Harrison Path Station.
According to the Harrison Police Department, between 95 and 200 charter buses are expected to arrive at the Harrison PATH Station from the Woodbridge Center Mall in Woodbridge, NJ, to transport commuters displaced by the halted train service. The buses will operate between 6:00 a.m. and 10:00 a.m. inbound to Harrison and 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. outbound to Woodbridge.
The Harrison Police have issued a Traffic Bulletin warning residents and commuters to expect delays in and around the Harrison Path Station and the Town of Harrison in general. Frank E. Rodgers Blvd, which runs in front of the Harrison Path Station, is a heavily traveled route for commuters. The addition of buses is expected to cause traffic delays in Harrison and neighboring Newark. There will also be buses running from the Hamilton Train Station to Newark Penn Station.
